We demand Amazon.com to remove from its website books that deny the Holocaust and promote anti-Semitism and white supremacy. No one should profit from the sale of such vile and offensive hate literature. Many Holocaust survivors are deeply offended by the fact that the world’s largest online retailer is making money from selling such material.
Petition to Amazon.com CEO and Chairman, Jeff Bezos
Recently, members of the World Jewish Congress urged you to remove any and all products denying the Holocaust or promoting anti-Semitism and hatred against Jews from Amazon.com, the world’s largest online retailer. To date, little has been done to address this deeply troubling matter.
We now see that Amazon.com has posted for purchase, among other titles, an unabashedly anti-Semitic book titled, “Holy Serpent of the Jews: The Rabbis' Secret Plan for Satan to Crush Their Enemies and Vault the Jews to Global Dominion,” by the notorious anti-Semite Texe Marrs.
An excerpt of the description of Marrs’s book posted on Amazon.com reads: “Amazingly, the Jews have proven to be exactly what Jesus prophesied. They are the People of the Serpent, unregenerated hypocrites whose religion is unparalleled in its treachery, its wickedness, and its unbounded filth.”
Even more alarming are the posted customer reviews. One reviewer called this filth, “The most important book you will ever read if you want to get to the bottom of what is truly happening in the world.”
This book clearly and blatantly violates your company’s own guidelines prohibiting the sale of any products that “promote or glorify hatred, violence, racial, sexual or religious intolerance or promote organizations with such views.” And a quick search of your website reveals that this book is just one of many anti-Semitic collections available for purchase.
I am outraged that this type of offensive material that can only serve to incite hatred and violence against Jews is still allowed to be sold on your website.
Therefore, I demand that action finally be taken and that all hateful material be immediately removed from Amazon.com.
